The Looking Glass

In time I dared to look through the looking glass
Gloss of small specks caused me to see but dimly
Calmly I spoke of all the grim horrors within
Inculcated inside was the great rolling Behemoth
The wrathful one veiled by thick dust on windows
Heedful I wiped the glass, and peered in deeper
Witnesser of all earth’s death and tumult
Assault upon gentle innocence, she howled
Sprawled out these green refusers breathed dust
Vast evils are not out there - in condemned goats
Beasts afar off, no, no! They writhe within!
